Comparison
Fast cloth is not always the best cloth, and balanced tournament speed is not automatically right for every venue. Simonis requests should be framed around play style, customer skill level, table size, and staff maintenance capacity.
Use 860 when the room wants a tournament-aware surface with controlled speed, broad player acceptance, and fewer surprises for league or mixed-skill play. It is often the cleaner default for commercial rooms because managers can explain it without overpromising a very fast experience.
Use 760 when speed is a deliberate requirement. It suits rooms that understand faster cue ball response, host players who ask for it, or maintain specific tables for games where a livelier surface is expected. The request should say why speed matters.
Document climate, chalk habits, food proximity, rail condition, and table hours. Two rooms can buy the same cloth and get different outcomes if cleaning routines or installation conditions are different.
Color reference
Tournament Blue, Green, and darker room palettes can look different under warm pendants, LED bars, and mixed daylight. Dealers and room owners should review samples beside the actual table whenever possible.
